The multi use Plantronics Savi’s are here. The convertable headset is very much like the headset from the Plantronics Calisto Pro, but with an added over the head attachment. So far so good with them.
If you want the ability to use one headset to go back and forth between your computer and your phone, then this is probably a good option.

I actually feel that when you are operating a large machine that has the potential to instill damage and perhaps even death in others, you should probably focus on the task at hand and not talk on the phone. I mean, would you really operate a band saw without giving it your full attention? Probably not. But with driving, because we do it everyday it becomes automatic and we don’t even think about the fact that we are dividing our attention. And don’t even get me started about texting while driving.
Clearly, most times, it’s going to be fine. But what about that time when the person coming towards you veers off course because he is texting and you don’t notice because you are texting.
I mean, it hasn’t been that long that people have actually been able to do this anyway. I am old enough to remember life without cell phones. And driving without cell phones. But now everyone has this sense of entitlement, that since we can, we should talk on the phone while driving.
Okay enough of my rant. The point that I wanted to make when I started writing this post was to point out that I’m in California and we put the hands free law through just about a year ago. Although people complained at first, it really ended up being no big deal. So all you people in states that are considering it now, just use a headset. How hard is that?

Look ma, no wires!
Plantronics has announced their latest computer headset and it looks pretty nice so far. It has a wireless dongle (I can not find any indication that it’s a Bluetooth wireless dongle, so I am thinking maybe it uses a different radio frequency, but that is just my speculation) and has some decent looking binaural speakers.
It will probabaly be really good for gaming. I will have more information as it becomes available.

Plantronics has a teaser site up that claims they are about to release something new and exciting on April 23, 2009. I wonder if it’s the new Savi series that is coming out that you can use with your phone, your cell phone and your computer.
I am not sure, but I am interested to see it.

There are lots of things people want from headsets. Such as using it with your office phone; using it with your cell phone; using it with your computer. There are also lots of styles of headsets. Such as over-the-head; on-the-ear; in-the-ear. Headsets can have long boom microphones, or be very small.
Now, if you are the type of person that like small on-the-ear headsets and wants a headset that works with your office phone, your cell phone AND your computer, then the Sennheiser VMX Office is right up your alley.
It’s definitely better if you are in a quieter office, but the connection to the office phone is class one Bluetooth, so you can get up to 200 feet from the phone, which is pretty awesome.
There are a few buttons to get used to, but once you have those down, it’s pretty sweet.

We’ve been waiting for it, and as of yesterday, we have the Plantronics CT14 in stock and ready to ship! And it’s $10 below the MSRP.
The CT14 is the upgrade from Plantronics popular cordless telephone: the CT12. The CT14 looks pretty much the same, but has longer talk time, an increased range and runs on a different frequency, so there is less chance for interference. It has a little clip on pack that you can clip to your belt and a convertable headset, so you can wear it over your head or just on the ear, depending on your preference. There is one cord that goes from the headset to the remote pack. But that remote pack lets you answer calls and dial out. And if you happen to have a Partner phone, you have even more options!

The Plantronics CS55 continues to be the top selling wireless headset for offices. Are you curious to know why? There are the reasons I think it is still such a top seller:
- The headset is convertible. You automatically have two choices for wearing styles when you purchase a CS55: on the ear and over the head. This is fantastic that you have a choice and you can figure out for yourself which one works for you. It’s also great for while you are training yourself to wear an on-the-ear headset as sometimes it can take a few days to get used to. When you ear starts getting tired, simply snap on the over-the head-band and continue talking! There is also a behind-the-neck kit that allows you to wear the headset in another style!
- Excellent sound quality. The noise canceling mic and the 1.9 GHz frequency that the headset runs on means crystal clear sound for both you and your caller. No one will realize you are on a headset.
- You are hand-free. You can type with both hands, read through files, and whatever else you need to do. Just think how much more work you can get done in a shorter amount of time! No more having to stay late at the office to tie up loose ends.
- There are no cords! This is probably the most important reason for me: there are no cords to get tangled up in. I always felt like I was on a leash when I used a corded headset. This one makes you feel free. You are even able to spin around in your chair and not get tangled up!
- You have a range of up to 300 feet. Sometimes I walk out of the office and around the corner while I am on the phone to get a little privacy away from my shared office. Nobody even realizes I am away from my desk I continue to sound so clear.
All in all the CS55 is a great performing headset. It’s no wonder it’s still so popular.

Try Headset Discounters for great open box buys.
