Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset

I could not get the Jawbone to be comfortable, despite trying the three different earbuds and loops. I could cram it into my ear and it would stay for a while, but eventually it was dangling by the loop (would have dropped out with only an ear fit). Plus my ear would be aching after an hour or two.

The sound canceling worked well, but only when the unit was crammed into my ear and touching my face. I wear a beard, so this tended to break the contact with my face and ruin the sound.

I lost my Voyager 510 headset (which goes with the Plantronics Bluetooth base), and tried using the Jawbone 2 as a replacement. The base and the Jawbone would pair and work together, but when I came in the next morning the pairing was lost and had to be re-established.

I returned the Jawbone and got my money back.

I had bought a Plantronics headset to use with my cell phone. I did not like it because it did not fit properly. My husband had the Jawbone, which he did not like because it was hard to turn off and on. So we switched. The Jawbone fits over my ear perfect; however, I think the piece that fits inside my ear could be a little softer. I am going to try switching out a different ear bud to see if that helps. I have no problems with turning off and on. I use this for my personal use and I have the Plantronics CS50 for my work use.

This unit does not work at all if, like me, you wear a beard. Without contact to my face this unit is worthless. However, my wife thinks it works great except she didn't find it comfortable.

I love silver anything! It's nice to wear earrings that don't clash with my headset.

First of all, this is a great headset, Ace your husband must do really hard manual labor because I don't see any way that the earpiece can break inside your ear unless you break it off yourself. Noise and wind reduction has gone down 10-fold since this models predecessor. As for the "awkward connection," it's really no big deal, it's just Aliph's way of saying, you need a special charger for this special device. The sensor does not need to touch your cheek, just simply your "jawbone." I use the wired ear hook without the leather because I have glasses and it works fine by me. Sometimes I don't even use the earhook and it feels like the piece isn't even there. There is NO other headset on the market that can compete with the Jawbone 2, well except for the Jawbone 1. With it's noise assassin technology, voice is clear as can ever be on a Bluetooth headset, the only down is that there is still that crackly Bluetooth sound that nobody has figured out how to get rid of.

Proprietary USB cable with awkward connection, does not stay in your ear solidly enough for cheek sensor to contact properly. Forget trying to use it without the ear hook especially if you move your jaw (to chew something?). Far too expensive. At half the going price, it's not worth it.

Needs softer earpiece, and needs stronger resolution for noise and wind.

After numerous headsets that didn't work at all, my husband was told to buy this Jawbone 2 headset. So he did & within 2 days of use, the piece that goes in his ear, broke inside. Fortunately, there was no serious damage to my husband's ear but we surely didn't want this product again. We'll keep searching for a better one.
