The Discovery 655 is a bit of a mixed bag.
On one hand, it’s super-lightweight, to the point where you barely notice that you have something in your ear (unless you’re the type of headset user that hates having something sticking in your ear).
On the other, I just don’t care for the charging pocket system, though. There are too many little connectors everywhere for my taste.
I just like plugging something into the wall / USB socket, attaching it to my headset and letting the sucker juice up. However, some people love to have tons of little gizmos, and if that’s you, the 655 / 665 is the headset for you.
The earloop is somewhat comfy, but not altogether necessary. The controls are definitely simple and easy to use, but the sound quality isn’t the hottest out there.
The mic is so far away from your mouth, you often have that “speakerphone” type of sound.
It’s pretty middle-of-the-road as far as Bluetooth sound quality goes, but that coupled with the array of attachments to charge it outweighs the comfort and lightness of the mic for my money.
It was nice to find something small and lightweight enough I could use in my ear. Previous ear pieces, MP3, phone headsets were always too big and uncomfortable. This I can wear with almost no discomfort. I can hear the caller quite well, however, I was told my voice sounded tinny, like I was in a metal tunnel. This is my first bluetooth and I am quite happy with it.
