Plantronics MX505 Black Mobile Headset

I've had 3 of these (I abuse them horribly) and they are by far the best sound quality if you ride a bike, because there is no wind noise. The little tube can come off if you keep it in a pocket, so keep an eye on it, they don't sell replacements.

The headset fits on under the ear. This feels awkward to put on and doesn't feel as stable as the kind that go on top of the ear. The sound is good at my end. A test caller says the sound on her end was a little distant. The mic is a bit hard to adjust for me.

Not that comfortable, not that loud. The microphone picks up background noise amazingly well - it may not pick up wind, but people you speak to can hear everything else happening around you.

I use the MX505 and it is the absolute best headset I have ever had. I drive a Corvette convertible and the road noise inside the cabin is very loud and it makes it difficult for others to hear me on my phone and vice versa. However, with the MX505, it is like the person is sitting next to me - on both ends of the conversation. I also have one of your wind socks on it, but only because we have tried using it while on a motorcycle (not the driver - ha!). It doesn't work as well there, but at 70 mph with your head hanging out the window, so to speak, we didn't figure it would, but it did work somewhat. GREAT for the car! My aunt has me ordering one for her daughter for Christmas.

I bought this headset to use in my convertible because it has the 'windstopper' technology - which actually works up to 65 MPH.

The audio quality is a little low though, even when on maximum handset volume. Could be me though....

Good Product. When I'm in the car, it doesn't work that great because of background noise but it works better than bluetooth.

The MX505 fits great and is quite stable when I move. Sounds great too, at least most of the time. I especially like the boom mic - that's the key reason I bought it. In terms of sound quality, it's very clear, but I have had an intermittent volume issue where I would sound very quiet to people, and I could make the problem disappear by simply touching the headset gently or moving it slightly. The folks at Headsets.com have diagnosed this as likely a loose wire and sent me a replacement so we'll see what happens - I'm not sure if this is a durability issue with these units overall, or if I just got a lemon.

So the headset is great when it's working and I would definitely buy it again if the replacement unit solves the volume issue. The service from 1-800 Headsets is fantastic. I own my own business and know all about the value of good customer service - these folks are outstanding. If you're looking for a headset, you need to talk to them.

Good sound and easy to use. If possible, different size of ear plug is preferred.

I previously used a plantronics headset for my Cell phone, it was an over the ear model that worked great.When I visited your website and saw the behind the ear model, I thought I would try it and you know what I am impressed with the comfort level,lightweight, and quality of the MX 505.

Not only is this headset great sounding, but it's extremely comfortable too. People on the other end hear me clearly no matter what environment I'm in and as active as I am, this headset always fits securely.
