Power cord required!

This is perhaps more about service than product. Was replacing my very ancient Plantroncs Vista and wanted to avoid another power cord if at all possible. Sales rep suggested this amplifier (which would work with my headset). Though the instructions don't mention batteries, there is a battery case on the amp. When I called to double-check, the service rep said yes, it does use batteries. Nope. It's missing the metal tongs and that's not a defect.

Did go through process of plugging it in to test it, but the sound quality was not remarkably different than what I have already. So I'm exchanging it.

The service from this company is usually terrific, but I have to give this particular product a poor rating.

Plantronics amplifier - clear sound, solid product

Superb amplifier. I've tried other less expensive models in the past - they hummed or buzzed. This lives up to the Plantronics reputation, works well, adjustable volumes, etc. Wish the office I were in had newer phones - this was my only headset option and it hit a home run.
