Choosing the Right Wireless Headset System For Your Office Phone
High Density Applications
If you work in or run a call-center (well, of course, nowadays they are called contact centers to reflect their multi-channel nature) you may be wondering if wireless headsets are suitable for you. Early models suffered from a density restriction that reduced their range. If you had more than 12 headsets within a few hundred yards – the interference from each headset would cause so much channel hopping, and overlap that they could never be rolled out to even a small call center. Both Plantronics and GN Netcom have seemingly solved this issue with their latest offerings though – the CS line of wireless headsets – including the CS50, CS55, CS70 and others and the 9000 series headsets from GN Netcom including the GN 9120 and the GN 9350 DECT wireless headsets. We have had no reports, nor experienced ourselves any issues with a large number of wireless headsets working in a small area so this issue appears to have receded.
