Do headsets have a negative effect on pacemakers?

Updated by on Mar 1, 2024

Short answer: Probably not.

If Customers are worried, their doctor would give them the best answer. We cannot give medical advice!

That being said, the general risk for pacemakers + headsets are usually very minimal. It is recommended that the headset always stay at least 6 inches away from the pacemaker device and then you should be fine.

Most headset manuals list something about this in the safety warnings. For example, the OfficeRunner only suggests keeping the headset 1.2 inches (3 cm) away from the pacemaker.

Headsets are listed under “Communications and Office” under the Minimal Risk (6 inches away) category. 6 inches in their best recommendation for safety, but it is not a definitive piece of medical advice.

Again, if Customers have any further questions, we should refer them to their doctor.

We can’t give medical advice, but their doctor definitely can!
