Well, you’d want to turn this off if a Customer with an Avaya 9608 phone is experiencing massive echoes in their headsets. This may also work with other Avaya 9600 series phones.
Here’s how to turn this feature off to help get rid of the echo:
1) Go to Options on the phone.
2) Go to Settings.
3) Go to Advanced.
4) Go to Auto Gain.
5) Go to Headset.
6) Select Off.
