This headset works fine with my cordless phone, but when used with the SUPPLIED 2.5-3.5mm adapter is did NOT work with my iPHone. The operator said is sounded like a faulty cable, so they promptly sent me another with no shipping charge. The other headset did the same thing. The adapter was not faulty as I used it successfully with a different planttronics headset and my iPHone. The headset was not faulty as I used it with my cordless phone. Both of my MX500i head sets did not work with my iPHone 4 (the sound was quiet and had crackles like a bad cable, except that the crackles did not happen when I physically moved the cable.). There must be a strange electronic compatibility between the microphone and the iPHone 4. I am giving it a low rating because it was not compatible with my phone, not because it is a bad headset. They should change the compatibility listing.

I looked around to find a headset that is compatible with glasses. The over the head type headset puts too much pressure on head & glasses. This headset works perfectly and is comfortable to wear for 2-3 hour conference calls. I wish the cord was long, but other than that no complaints.

I've had Plantronics headsets before and had great luck, durable, dependable...good stuff. I looked forward to this model, single ear piece, adjustable etc...It's very comfortable (I'm on the phone all day). Mic seems to work well but there are 2 problems, 1 minor, 1 major. The minor problem is there is an on/off switch that always seems to get switched between putting it in my bag and setting it up again. That can be easily overlooked though. The real problem is that with the adjustable volume control cranked to the top, I can barely hear the people on the other side of the line. So a good chunk of my day is spent with my left hand cupping my ear and me saying, "Could you repeat that please?". That's not good enough. Would I recommend this product? No. There's got to be something better on the market.

Bought this headset, but was quickly disatisfied and passed it to another colleague. The headset's volume is completely insufficient for my use... The ear piece does not provide sufficient volume outpu (yes, even with the small volume control turned all the way up). The plantronics earpiece merely sits near the ear canal; it does not insert into the ear canal and besides insufficent volume, it does not isolate or seal out ambient noise. The quality of the plantronics microphone - the quality of the audio as reported by those I called was excellent.

I ordered this headset to use primarily with an iPhone and did not order the 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter. Make sure to order the adapter too if you will be using this headset with an iPhone!
Sound is clear and crisp. Callers say vocal quality is great too. Under-ear design works well when wearing glasses but gets in the way a bit when wearing earrings (I've been taking one earring out while using headset). Overall very nice product.

My previous MX510i which performed well with my Nokia 2610 was incompatible with my new 2330. I was told that the MX500i would be compatible with the 2330 and fortunately, it is.

I use it for hands-free cell phone access while I'm driving. I can hear just about as clearly as I can when using the phone without a headset. Wearing this style of headset was somewhat uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it after a while.

I don't particularly care for the voice tube supplied. It's too long. I replaced it with a shorter tube that I used with the 510 and people tell me that my voice sounds just as clear with it as it does as the longer one.

Overall, it's a pretty good headset. It fills my needs quite well.

I love this headset, but am on my second. First one the earbud broke off when I dropped it (wires broke inside so no putting humpty dumpty back together again). Second time the speaker tube broke in half when I picked it up (don't handle it with the speaker tube). Replacement speaker tubes are available fortunately.

I have never liked the voice quality of Bluetooth headsets. The corded headset to my iPhone is great and allows hands free driving which is much safer with those phones. The adaptor works great also!

I was offered any headset to try and compare. I chose the MX500I 3 in 1 because it fits very well, stays in place, the in-ear speaker bud works well and the noise cancelling boom mic is superior to all. I do prefer the shorter boom. I found with the longer boom, (the one that is shipped with the product), it tends to "stray". Meaning it is longer and will swing away from my cheek and mouth. the shorter one moves a bit but is always close. The weight and feel of this headset is substantial. compared to some of the lighter plastic units this seems like the best investment. I would recommend this headset to anyone! D. Gilmore.

How did this get a 5 star rating when the bad outweighs the good. The earpiece is lightweight but difficult to put on quickly enough to answer a call. Durability is poor. I have to replace it after a year because the earpiece doesn't work anymore. The sound quality was good at first but calls were breaking up while the thing was starting to fail. The long cord might be a plus for some people, but it was way too long for me, and having the extra length added by the jack/USB adapter makes that worse. Now that I need a replacement, I'll be looking for something different.

I like the product very much, the sound is very good. It is easy to install. I would be nice if there was a quick release switch.

I love this headset for three reasons.
First, I use my cell phone for work calls 5 - 7 hours a day and don't like Bluetooth. This headset plugs right into my cell phone (LG Env) and is very comfortable to wear all day.
Second, I can plug the USB adapter into my computer and talk easily on Skype or GoToMeeting.
Third, I can plug the USB adapter into my computer and use the headset as a microphone for recording Camtasia video tutorials.
This is a fabulous headset and is well worth the money.

I bought a Jawbone II to pair to my iPhone. Horrid ... perhaps they work for folks with differently shaped heads, but not for me. This one is perfect. I sit and work in a cafe all day spending considerable time on conference calls ... people are surprised to find out that I'm in a cafe now, whereas before they complained about the noise (iPhone standard earphones). Highly recommended.

This headset is expensive, but offers ALL you could want from a good headset!! I purchased it for my portable home phone and it works VERY well! My old headset made it very had for anyone to hear me, this headset is GREAT!!

I purchased this Plantronics headset because I have previously owned both cellphone and aviation headsets from them. I found the usual high quality and ease of use. In addition, the ability to also use the headset for VoIP made this the most versatile headset that I have ever owned. Great job, Plantronics ... just what I expected!

I only have two words to describe this headset; simply amazing!

The jack fits loosely in my Treo 700p. I have to jiggle it to make sure I remain connected. The ear piece is hard to put on but comfortable once it's there. It's especially hard when wearing earrings - since we're slipping the thing on from below the ear. The in-line volume and mute control adds unnecessary weight to the wire. Most phones/smart phones have volume and mute control that's easily accessible. I switched to a wired headset from a bluetooth because the connectivity of the bluetooth was sketchy. I don't think I have found the ideal headset for my smart phone yet. I may be exchanging this one especially because of the problematic plug.

Good sound and easy to use. If possible, different size of ear plug is preferred.

I previously used a plantronics headset for my Cell phone, it was an over the ear model that worked great.When I visited your website and saw the behind the ear model, I thought I would try it and you know what I am impressed with the comfort level,lightweight, and quality of the MX 505.
