Comfort

For those who prefer a single ear wearing style, the Sennheiser OfficeRunner is one of the most comfortable options you can find. Since every OfficeRunner has the ability to transition between wearing styles, it's two headsets for the price of one! Of course, the on-the-ear configuration will feel different than the over-the-head one, so let's dive into each:

  • On-the-ear configuration: When it comes to on-the-ear wearing styles, the ear loop can make or break your wearing experience. The OfficeRunner comes with two different traditional ear loop sizes, so your device will almost certainly sit securely. Need more options than just small and large? Don’t worry! You’re also given a bendable ear loop, so even those with the wackiest ear shapes can wear this device comfortably.

  • Over-the-head configuration: For many OfficeRunner users, this is the preferred configuration for longer hours of wear. That’s because the lightweight band and plush leatherette ear cushion sit so comfortably that you might even forget it’s there. Per one customer’s review, OfficeRunner headsets “are so comfortable, people walk out with them on their heads -- and then have to turn around and bring them back in, sometimes after getting all the way out to their cars and putting on sunglasses.”

Compatibility

The Sennheiser OfficeRunner is compatible with:

  • Corded desk phones: The Sennheiser OfficeRunner is guaranteed to be compatible with over 98% of corded office phones. No matter the brand or model of your phone, you’ll almost certainly be able to hook it up to an OfficeRunner.

  • Computers (USB) & Softphones: Not quite satisfied with the 98% statistic? When it comes to computers, the OfficeRunner boasts 100% compatibility. You’ll be able to connect to every Mac and PC out there. If your workplace utilizes platforms like Microsoft Teams or Zoom, you’re all set. This headset is compatible with most major softphone brands.

The Sennheiser OfficeRunner is not compatible with:

  • Bluetooth: The OfficeRunner is not equipped with Bluetooth technology, so you won’t be able to wirelessly connect to your smartphone or tablet.

Audio quality: mic & speakers

  • Mic: The microphone is noise-canceling, so you won’t have to worry about noisy coworkers, pets, or anything else interfering with your call. Users are often surprised by just how effective this feature is. One Amazon review stated that the noise cancellation abilities ensure that “the people I am speaking to can only hear my voice.....not me breathing into the mic, not my dogs fighting in the background or the tv....just my voice.” This mic is sure to keep your calls sounding professional.

  • Speakers: Although the single-ear wearing style means that you may not be completely immersed in your calls, the Sennheiser OfficeRunner still delivers on the speaker front. The sound quality is consistently cited by users as a selling point. In addition to crisp, clear sound, the ear piece is equipped with ActiveGuard technology. It prevents sudden volume spikes from coming through, so you can listen comfortably and not worry about damaging your ears.

What makes it special

  • The ability to personalize the wearing experience: This headset might be the most customizable one on the market. Every device has the ability to convert between wearing styles; no add-ons or upgrades needed! The switch between on-the-ear and over-the-head wearing styles is easy and intuitive, so you won’t need to stress about wasting time or damaging the microphone in the conversion process. The mic can be fully rotated too, so you can switch from your left ear to your right and back again without hassle. No matter your wearing preferences - even if they change throughout the day! - you’ll be satisfied with this Sennheiser headset’s fit.

  • Reliability: The OfficeRunner is backed by a three-year full replacement warranty. On its own, that speaks to the longevity of the device; most headset warranties only span 1 to 2 years. A key feature that’s often overlooked is that the warranty also covers the battery. The majority of warranties exclude this type of coverage, so once the battery dies, it’s up to you to replace it (which can put you out up to $50). The Sennheiser warranty won’t let a dead battery get you down.

  • Multi-device functionality: One base can pair with up to four headsets (within the 400 foot range) at a time. It’s conference calling made easy. You won’t have to patch together calls from different devices or worry about someone on the call losing connection.

  • User-friendly design: The OfficeRunner utilizes some advanced technology, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be referencing the manual every time you need to adjust your device. Set up is intuitive. No IT technician needed. Changing wearing styles? It’s as simple as popping the mic off of one ear piece and on to the other. Switching between phone and computer mode, adjusting mic and speaker levels, pairing additional devices… It’s all easy because it’s all designed with the user in mind.

Buy this headset if...

  • … versatility is key. If you like to switch up wearing styles throughout the day, or if you need to transition back and forth from phone to computer use, the OfficeRunner will be a perfect fit.

  • … you require extra mobility throughout the workday. If your job or productivity rely on moving around your workplace, the 400 foot range will give you the freedom you need.

Don’t buy this headset if...

  • … you’re on a budget. The OfficeRunner comes equipped with all kinds of bells and whistles, and the price reflects that. At just under $490, it’s not ideal for those looking for an inexpensive setup.

  • … you need to use your headset with a cell phone. Since this headset doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities, you won't be able to hook it up to your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. If mobile phone connectivity is a must, check out the Leitner LH370.

Popular accessories

Everyone looks better when they accessorize! The OfficeRunner can be supplemented by the following accessories to enhance the user experience:

  • Electronic hookswitch: If you’re looking to answer and end calls away from your desk, an electronic hookswitch will make it happen. It’s the digitized way to get remote answering capabilities.

  • Handset lifter: A handset lifter is the alternative to the electronic hookswitch. It allows for remote answering by physically lifting your phone from its receiver. It’s the electronic hookswitch’s less fancy brother.
